But the striker knows he has to do the business for Dundee United if he wants to be in with a shout of gatecrashi­ng Steve Clarke’s Euro 2020 squad.

The on-loan Reading striker would love to add to his two caps but is aware he will have to up his game to have any chance of a recall.

McNulty has still to open his United account but is now getting up to speed and is looking to get off the mark against Premiershi­p basement boys Hamilton today.

The 28-year-old, speaking about Scotland’s achievemen­t, said: “It has been brilliant for everyone, hasn’t it?

“We’re all still on a high. Being a Scotland supporter, ter, as I am, it has been en amazing, even when you ou are not directly involved. d.

“I am still a fan and was as screaming out my house se when we qualified.

“My missus told me to be e quiet because I’d woken up p the little one.”

McNulty won his caps s when he was on-loan at Hibs but accepts his lack of firstteam football at Reading has hindered him.

The former Livingston star said: “You would be lying if you

said you didntdidn’t want to be a part of that. Who wouldn’t? When you saw the celebratio­ns, wow. Even the guys who were not on the pitch but maybe sitting in the stand in Belgrade, you could see what it meant. “It wouwould have been brilliant to have been there but these th are things that you can ca still hope for. “It’s a long time to the EurosEu and I am just concentrat­ing co on United. If I am playing well here, that tha would give me the greatest gre chance of something som like that.”
