Mick needs to talk to someone – but it seems he’s chosen the wrong person

Linda is surprised when Mick interrupts her playdate with Max, Ollie and Abi – and not just because her husband has returned to Walford with a black eye, which he claims is the result of a mugging.

Mick is also a bit taken aback to discover that Max has been helping Linda with her business proposal, but despite that and his mystery bruise, he seems to be back to his old self. Or, at least, he does until he pretends to be asleep to avoid spending time with his wife.

As the week wears on, Mick increasing­ly struggles to keep pretending that everything is fine. Desperate to talk to someone, he puts in a call to perhaps the last person he should be confiding in – Katy.

He tells her that seeing her again has taken him back to his childhood and left him feeling lost and desperate. But what, if anything, will his abusive former carer advise him to do?

Elsewhere, Lauren rings Peter from New Zealand to reveal she has nowhere to stay

following a house fire – and it seems she’d rather be homeless than ask Max for help. So Peter asks Ian for cash, and in the process he makes a discovery about his dad’s financial affairs – only Bobby is included in his will. Peter takes his anger out on his brother but Kathy later tells

Despite his best efforts to put on a brave face, it’s clear that Mick is struggling, but Linda isn’t the person he wants to confide his troubles in him that Bobby would do anything for him. Does that extend to using the Lucy Beale Foundation to bail out Lauren?

Elsewhere, Kheerat is still determined to reveal Gray’s true colours, but Whitney remains convinced that the widower is a good man. Tina’s attempts to bring down Ian don’t go to plan, while Thompson tells Callum that either Phil goes to jail or he’ll be on his way somewhere worse.
