ThThe 40-year-old Royle Family star and the French actress were filming the new series in the Caribbean islaisland of Guadeloupe when they decdecided to join the “Flip the SwSwitch” TikTok challenge craze of swswitching outfits. Dancing to Drake’s Nonstop, RRalf was wearing his character’s bbrowbrown suit jacket, stripy shirt aand tie and trousers while FFrenFrench actress Josephine, 35, worew a summery top and shorts.s Initially Ralf is in front whilew Josephine is dancing behindbe him. When Drake singssin “I just flipped the switch”, the pair swapped places and clothesclot – with Josephine in Ralf ’s suit and Ralf in her flowery top aand also a wig. RalfRa admitted: “First of all, it was mym idea. I think I should confeconfess that. “I dodon’t know why I had the idea but I thinkt it was clear that I wanted to try on Josie’s clothes. “For a joke we said we would try it and ththen I fitted into her shorts and she wwas furious. “In fairnessfair to her they are very elasticated,elasticate I’m not the same size as her. I neverneve thought it would be well received. “We havhave had some more ideas, but the troubltrouble is we never seem to have time as it takes a lot of set-up. We’ll take suggestions for next series.” While the new series which begins on Thursday is the 10th, celebrations have been muted because of the Covid pandemic. Even though it’s filmed in idyllic Guadeloupe, which stands in for the show’s fictional home of Saint Marie, restrictions were still in place. Ralf, who is still filming in the Caribbean, revealed: “To be honest, the pandemic means that any social aspect has to be handled carefully. “We would have loved to have had a big party to say we finished the first block but instead everyone says congratulations and then goodnight because we can’t go anywhere or do anything. “It’s been pretty tame and quiet socially out here but everyone still feels incredibly lucky to be out here, so no complaints from me.” The pandemic has meant he’s only seen his fiancée, American playwright Lindsey Ferrentino, for a week in the past nine months due to the travel restrictions amid the pandemic.
He said: “We had a week off in the middle of a shoot. I miss the other half but other than that I’ve not really got anything else to go home for.”
The pair had talked about getting married in Guadeloupe, although it would “take lots of planning”.
