TOMMY WRIGHT

-

Knows the Premiership inside out and his consistency with St Johnstone was rightly lauded. The Steelmen are in a fight for survival. A short-term deal would make sense because the former keeper is the definition of a safe pair of hands.

PEP CLOTET

The Spaniard, praised for his work with Birmingham before he departed last summer, would be an ambitious appointment. Likes an attacking brand of football and is well aware of lower-league market in England where Well have thrived.

GRAHAM ALEXANDER

The former Scotland star had forged a promising managerial career for himself before the axe fell at Salford City last year. The Preston legend, like Clotet, knows the lower leagues in England better than most.

BILLY DAVIES

Despite his abrasive ways, ex-Well boss Davies remains an excellent manager. But has the game moved on from his no-nonsense approach? Davies has been out of work since leaving Nottingham Forest for the second time in 2014.

JIM McINTYRE

Nightmare spell at Dundee will have left its mark. Might be an outsider but his stellar work at Ross County shouldn’t be ignored. Type of manager who would earn a second look when it comes time to whittle down candidates.

JONATHAN WOODGATE

A real wildcard but there’s a feeling he was cast in the wrong role at Middlesbrough and has some real coaching chops that need developed. A young, ambitious coach who dreams of playing exciting football. Shouldn’t be dismissed.
