Poch eyes a Dele swoop
After moving into PSG job
MAURICIO POCHETTINO will be allowed to shake up his squad at Paris Saint Germain – and that could mean a fresh move for Dele Alli.
The French club tried THREE times to sign Tottenham midfielder Alli last summer but were rebuffed by Spurs chairman Daniel Levy who did not want him to go.
PSG are willing to back Pochettino in the transfer market to make changes and signings after the ex-Spurs boss took charge at the Parc des Princes.
PSG wanted Alli on loan after Spurs signed Gareth Bale for the season and Alli has endured a difficult relationship with Jose Mourinho who has barely picked him and continually criticised him in public.
Alli, 24, has been left out in the cold by Mourinho and the England midfielder was an unused sub again for the win over Leeds.
Tottenham are insisting they will not allow Alli or captain Hugo Lloris to leave amid interest from France but Pochettino did manage to get the best out of the Spurs star during his time at White Hart Lane.
The chance for Alli to play regularly at PSG, link up with his old boss – and also make a push for England’s squad for the Euros – could appeal.
Levy was reluctant to allow players to leave last summer and Mourinho has also insisted Harry Winks cannot leave in January despite doubts over his Euro chances because of limited game time.
Poch has warned PSG’s stars they’ll need to earn a jersey under him.
He said: “In this club it has always been about excellence, players must deserve to wear the jersey.
“It’s a fantastic squad and we can accomplish what this club and the players want because they are competitors and want to lift trophies.
“Our goal is to make sure everyone is heading in the same direction.”
