EAGLE RIDGE (1.15) can swoop for Neil Alexander in the William Hill Handicap Chase at Musselburgh.

The gelding ran another stormer at this venue when third to Event Of Sivola over three miles. The 10-year-old still lurks on a workable mark so he can resume winning ways back down in trip.

The Kinross handler can also bag the novices’ handicap chase with NOT THE CHABLIS (2.25).

The gelding was unlucky to encounter the well-treated Shallow Run over 2m 4f here last time. The seven-year-old was staying-on strongly that day so she can go one better over three miles.

The mares’ handicap hurdle is very trappy but I’m siding with JOIE DE VIVRE (1.50).

Martin Todhunter’s grey stayed 2m 4f well when third behind Gelboe De Chanay at Newcastle. The six-year-old is nicely unexposed and she should be primed after a spin on the all-weather.

The two-miler is even trickier but I’m backing Lucinda Russell’s DIAMOND STATE (3.0). The hurdler made a decent handicap bow when third to Breguet Boy over course and distance.

The gelding is open to plenty of progress so can bag a decent event for his thriving handler.

SEVEN NO TRUMPS (12.30) can maintain Dan Skelton’s tremendous run at Wincanton.

The six-year-old was an eye-catching third behind Theme Tune on his timber debut at Ludlow. The gelding clearly has a bright future so he can open his account at the second time of asking.

Nick Gifford is also thriving at present so I’m rowing in with PADDY’S POEM (2.05).

The chaser stayed in form when third behind Moonlighter in a warm Sandown two-miler.

The gelding was doing all his best work late that day so he can go one better upped in trip.

GOLDEN EMBLEM (3.10) looks gilt-edged for in-form handler Neil Mullholland.

The hurdler ran took another step forward when chasing home Get The Appeal at Musselburgh. The mare is still largely unexposed as a stayer so she can strike under Sam Twiston-Davies.

SKY DEFENDER (4.45) can soar in the competitive Groundsweek Handicap at Kempton. Mark Johnston’s horse shaped like his turn was near when just held by Power Of States at Wolverhampton.

LEADING jump racing owners Cheveley Park Stud yesterday removed all eight horses they had with shamed trainer Gordon Elliott.

It came as a result of the “shocking” image of the Grand National-winning trainer sitting on a dead horse – as racing suffered another blow with a clip showing amateur rider Rob James doing something similar.

British racing chiefs announced that Elliott will not be allowed to have runners in Britain while the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board investigate the photo.

The BHA stance has plunged the chances of Elliott having participants at this year’s Cheltenham Festival, which starts on Tuesday week, into grave jeopardy.

Elliott has admitted the sickening photo was authentic and issued a grovelling apology for his behaviour.

The IHRB are due to meet on Friday.

Cheveley Park, who have stars such as Envoi Allen entered for major races at the upcoming Festival, have now taken all of their horses out of the disgraced trainer’s County Meath base and they will run for new handlers.

Envoi Allen will now be trained by Henry de Bromhead, along with fellow unbeaten performer Quilixios and Ballyadam, while Sir

Gerhard has joined Willie Mullins.

Richard Thompson, Director for Cheveley Park Stud, said: “We had to consider what was happening and the backdrop that had on Cheveley’s reputation.

“It’s very disappointing and upsetting for the industry.

“People love horses and we, as a family, purchased Cheveley Park in 1975, so we’ve been racing and breeding for up to 46 years.

“For the time being we are moving the horses. It is a terrible time for Gordon but he made a terrible error of judgement.”

Meanwhile, Cheltenham Festival-winning amateur rider James has apologised for his stupidity.

He said: “I apologise for my actions which were inappropriate and disrespectful to a lovely five-year-old mare, who unfortunately suffered a sudden cardiac arrest.”

JOSH TAYLOR insists he’s ready to conquer America after his long-awaited mega fight with Jose Ramirez was finally rubber-stamped.

The WBA and IBF world light welterweight champ will square up to the WBO and WBC title holder for the undisputed crown on May 22 in the iconic MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Taylor is out to become the first Scot to hoover up all four belts in the modern era after being forced to wait for his crack at his main rival.

The Prestonpans puncher reckons it’s his destiny to reign the division as Ramirez won’t have the tools to stop him.

Taylor said: “This is my time to shine. I know that I beat him in every department.

“It’s going to take a really special fighter to beat me. If I perform the way I know I can, I feel I’m unbeatable. There’s no one stopping me.

“I just wasn’t that impressed by him in his last fight against Victor Postol.

“He had three training camps and the fight kept getting cancelled, so I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt.

“He’s a very good fighter.”

The bout was originally pencilled in for May 8 but has been moved back a fortnight to avoid a clash with Canelo Alvarez’s showdown with Billy Joe Saunders.

Taylor is hoping the extra time will allow fans to get ringside in Vegas with legendry Top Rank promoter Bob Arum also sure the doors will be open for the super fight.

He said: “I am very confident that Ramirez and Taylor will be seen with a substantial number of spectators.

“For example, if I did the fight at MGM Grand they have over 16,000 capacity, so presumably I would be allowed to set it up for 8,000 – so that’s good news.

“Hopefully UK fans will be allowed to go.”

Taylor has his fingers crossed he’ll have a tartan army in his corner.

He added: “I wouldn’t want to have my dream fight without fans there to see it.

“It’s too big not to have supporters in there so we’ll wait and see.

“It has been a frustrating 18 months but hopefully we’ll get back to normality as soon as possible.”
