Glaswegians are UK’s most potty-mouthed
City tops the league of worst cursing
GLASGOW is the worst city in Britain for swearing, it’s been revealed.
And “f***” is the most common swear word.
Glaswegians use 109 profanities in every 1000 words, almost double their nearest cursing comrades – Liverpudlians – on 65. Edinburgh was next at No3 in the league.
The least likely city to hear swearing in was Sheffield with only 35 bad words every 1000.
Many well known Glaswegians are famous for turning the air blue.
Peter Capaldi, 63, played the foul-mouthed spin doctor Malcom Tucker in The Thick of It from 2005-12 and shouts in one scene, “Come the f*** in, or f*** the f*** off’. And Sir Alex Ferguson, Billy
Connolly and Frankie Boyle are famous for often using choice words.
“S**t” was the second most popular swear word behind “f***”.
