ITV2, 7.30pm IT’S worth checking out this bingeable US comedy that follows a group of employees working at Cloud 9, store number 1217.
The “big-box” hyperstore in St Louis, Missouri, sells absolutely everything, from guns and alcohol to jewellery and pharmacy drugs and everything in between.
Says an employee on the Tannoy: “It’s one-stop shopping for everything you could ever want or need.”
Ugly Betty star America Ferrera leads the cast as Amy, the floor manager in charge of a rather eclectic team of misfits.
They include Jonah (Ben Feldman), a college dropout who thinks he’s better than everyone else, Dina (Lauren Ash), the no-nonsense assistant store manager who shares her apartment with a large collection of birds, and Cheyenne (Nichole Sakura), a heavily pregnant high school student.
In this pilot, Jonah makes a terrible impression on Amy when he accidentally reprices expensive electronics to 25 cents and causes a Black Friday-style stampede.
Elsewhere, Cheyenne’s boyfriend proposes in the store.
