Del: It’s not right at Celts

-

DEREK McINNES reckons “something’s not quite right” at Celtic.

The former Aberdeen boss and Rangers star reflected on the Old Firm Cup clash and said: “On today’s performance there wasn’t too much between the teams. There were chances for Celtic and on another day they should be better than what they were.

“I think it’s indicative on where Celtic are at the moment, they have loads to sort out.

“Rangers are going the right way. The onus is on Celtic to do more. I think Celtic should expect more from their team and club than what they are currently getting.

“They looked well coached and well set up, I thought in the middle of the park they were decent, but something is not right there at the minute.

“In terms of the league there is no hiding place this season. Rangers have stayed quieter and gone about their business.

“Rangers have gone from strength to strength and Celtic should have been chasing them down hard.”

Ibrox legend Ally McCoist joined McInnes on pundit duty and hailed Steven Davis, saying: “He was out of this world. The goal was special, he controlled everything. What a season’s he’s had.”

Ex-Gers skipper David Weir, a team-mate of Davis in his first spell at Ibrox, added: “Rangers have just let the football do the talking and it’s clear Celtic have catching up to do.”

But former Hoops boss Gordon Strachan said: “If you’re the Celtic manager and said ‘We’re going to have 12 or 13 attempts at goal and five will be great ones’ you’d be happy with that. Allan McGregor was man of the match.

“If I was John Kennedy I would think, ‘What can I say to these lads? Apart from defensive shape let them down a couple of times.”
