Ole hopes City slump like United

MAN UTD ...... BURNLEY .......

-

3 1 MANCHESTER United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer vowed to keep the pressure on Manchester City after cutting their lead at the top of the Premier League to eight points.

Solskjaer’s side beat Burnley to close the gap to the same mark which United blew the title from in 2012, when they lost the league to City on goal difference on the final day.

The Old Trafford boss admitted: “It’s probably unrealistic but stranger things have happened in football. We just have to do our job.”

Two-goal Mason Greenwood says they’ll stay hopeful and added: “They might slip up and you just have to keep concentrating.

“We have to win our games, then whatever happens, will happen. Anything is possible. Hopefully they’ll drop points but we will just focus on our own games.”

Solskjaer added: “We’ve always said this year has to be progress. We’ve got as many points as last season and then, if we get more that we got last season, that’s progress.”

Edinson Cavani sealed the win in injury-time.

James Tarkowski had levelled for Clarets as they battle for safety.

Boss Sean Dyche said: “I’m not concerned, I’m just looking at the reality and we’re well versed in the Premier League. We have to look after ourselves.”
