Stunt backfires

NO DOUBT shameless Scots Tory chief Douglas Ross will be spinning his comments on Boris Johnson to his own advantage.

Ross said the PM should “of course” resign if he is found to have breached the ministerial code over the farce of who paid for his flat makeover.

On one level Ross is correct – Johnson should resign if he has breached ethics rules in this grubby scandal.

But the truth is Ross had boxed himself into a corner over his dumb response to the Sturgeon-Salmond row.

Rookie Ross called for Sturgeon to quit even before her own ethics investigation had concluded.

His decision to play politics with such a sensitive issue was ridiculous and no other pro-UK party played ball.

His shameless Sturgeon stunt backfired to the extent he felt obliged to make a similar demand of his own boss.

Ross is the worst leader in this Holyrood election and voters should give him the result he deserves.
