STEPH DAVIS ATHLETICS - MARATHON

STEPH Davis ran her first marathon just three years ago. Now she is heading to the Olympics. Steph, 30, of Bearsden, East Dunbartonshire, had always enjoyed cross country running, but it wasn’t until she met her boyfriend who was training for the Berlin marathon that she started doing longer runs. She decided to enter the marathon with him, recorded an impressive time of just two hours 41 minutes and hasn’t looked back.

Despite Steph being an unsponsored, self-funded athlete, who juggles her training schedule with working parttime in financial administration, she holds the ninth fastest marathon time ever for a British female.

She said: “Super excited to be part of Team GB and run the Olympic Marathon. I’m absolutely buzzing.”
