AN INSPIRAL CHOICE

- BY GARRY OWEN

INSPIRAL (2.10) can shine for Team Gosden in a cracking renewal of the Star Stakes at Sandown.

The juvenile oozed class when slamming Ardbraccan on debut in a red-hot Newmarket novice.

The filly clearly has a bright future so she can add this Listed event to her CV under Frankie Dettori.

The superstars can also take a fascinating maiden thanks to DUKEDOM (1.35). The colt can build on his excellent debut second to Sonny Liston over track and trip.

BUY ME BACK (1.0) can complete a hat-trick for Mark Loughnane in the opening sprint. The sprinter improved again when bolting up from the consistent Boom The Groom at Brighton.

This filly who can make light of another 5lb penalty.

The Young Stayers Handicap is extremely trappy but I’m backing Mark Johnston’s ANNANDALE (2.45).

The colt put in his best shift yet when a close third behind Oman in a warm Chester handicap.

The three-year-old is nicely unexposed over long distances so he looks good to deny some useful rivals.

OLD NEWS (3.20) can hit the headlines for shrewd Linda Stubbs in the Ewell Handicap.

The four-year-old ran a stormer when just denied by the progressive Dashing Dick at Yarmouth.

The gelding still lurks on a really attractive mark so he can go one better in another decent contest.

The Imber Court Handicap looks tricky to call but I’m backing Roger Teal’s CIVIL LAW (3.55).

Useful for Brian Ellison, the gelding was a fine third at Lingfield on debut for his current yard. The grey should be primed after that effort so he can resume winning ways back on Turf.

MOWALEDA (4.30) can also benefit from a change of scenery in the Twickenham Handicap.

The filly was an eye-catching third to Chiasma on her last outing for Brian Meehan at Kempton.

Finally, CASTANA DIA (4.50) rates the best bet on yet another competitive card at Yarmouth.
