I feel like I’m going to wake up from the best dream I ever had
Presenter and singer wed on bonnie banks as celebrant Carol hails ‘magical’ ceremony
TELEVISION presenter Storm Huntley and LaFontaines frontman Kerr Okan have described their “dream” wedding day as “too perfect” for words.
The happy couple said “I do” on Thursday in an intimate ceremony on the bonnie banks of Loch Lomond, with TV star Carol Smillie acting as celebrant.
Speaking yesterday, blushing bride Storm, 34, who wore a stunning gown and train, said: “It was a beautiful day. Simply perfect. It was really special. It was a small ceremony with just eight of our loved ones there to see us tie the knot. I still feel like I’m going to wake up from the best dream I’ve ever had.”
Singer Kerr, who looked like a movie star in a black tuxedo and bow tie, echoed his new wife, saying: “There are no words that would do the day justice. It was perfect.”
Former Changing Rooms presenter Carol, 59, who has retrained as a Humanist Society Scotland celebrant, tweeted: “Some weddings are just magical and make my job as a humanist celebrant so special. Huge congratulations Mr & Mrs Okan.”
Hundreds of wellwishers rushed to congratulate the newlyweds after Jeremy Vine on 5 presenter Storm posted a picture, by renowned wedding photographer Euan Robertson, of her and Kerr standing on the shores of the loch.
Lizzie Cundy and Kate Thornton sent congratulations and Jeremy Vine wrote on Twitter: “Congratulations @StormHuntley and Kerr on your gorgeous wedding day!”
ITV news reporter Sally Biddulph wrote: “Huge congrats Storm. What a stunning bride, stunning couple and stunning photo. Wishing you the happiest of marriages xxxx”
And ex-BBC One presenter Ally McCrae said: “Congratulations you absolute belters, I’m glad you had Euan there on the banks, all the very best.”
Storm, originally from Bishopbriggs, near Glasgow, and Kerr, who grew up in Motherwell, got engaged in October last year but had to keep putting their big day on hold due to Covid. At one point they had joked they were considering getting married in McDonald’s due to all the upheaval but instead opted for a ceremony in the shadow of Ben Lomond.
Storm and Kerr were not the only celebrity couple to get hitched this week – Love Island’s Camilla Thurlow, 32, and Jamie Jewitt said “I do” on Thursday.
Jewitt, who proposed in February by dressing up their daughter Nell with an outfit that said: “Mummy, will you marry my Daddy?” met Camilla, who was born in Dumfries, on the hit ITV reality show in 2017.
Guests at the ceremony included former Love Island star DJ Marcel Somerville and Dancing On Ice winner Jake Quickenden.
Jake shared pictures on the day on his Instagram page, writing: “Wonderful day, and such a beautiful ceremony.”
