Give us a wee Waverley
A KEEN-eyed photographer snapped the Waverley dwarfed by a cruise ship as the boats passed each other on the River Clyde. Dad-of-two Stephen Henry, 57, snapped the shot from Lyle Hill in
Greenock on Thursday. He had planned to capture the sunset when he spotted the huge MSC Virtuosa about to pass the famous paddle steamer – itself a mere 240ft long.
Stephen said: “The way the light caught them, you could see the contrast between old and new.
“The Waverley would have been seen as a significantly sized paddle steamer in its day. You see it against a modern cruise ship and it’s dwarfed.”
