Only Fools tops list of most missed TV shows
THE Bill, Porridge, Blackadder and Minder are among the telly shows Brits would love to see remade.
Talent show Stars in Their Eyes, period drama Heartbeat and Father Ted made the top 20 while just outside were Shameless, Bread, Gladiators, Life on Mars and Knight Rider.
Iconic Only Fools and Horses topped the list of most-wanted revivals with Fawlty Towers second and Blackadder third.
The study found long running repeats of Friends were not enough to keep viewers satisfied with one in five keen to see new shows shot.
British comedy classics like Keeping Up Appearances, The Office and Last of the Summer Wine also made the list along with family favourite The Generation Game and school saga Grange Hill.
The survey of 1500 Brits by Freesat found four in 10 felt the TV golden oldies were better than modern offerings on the box and nine in 10 said settling down to watch an old 1. Life on Mars 25. Knight Rider 26. Buffy the Vampire Slayer 27. Grange Hill 28. It’s a Knockout 29. The Generation Game 30. Baywatch favourite gave them a feelgood factor.
However, despite feeling nostalgic for the shows of yesteryear, three quarters expressed concerns that new versions could end up falling short of expectations.
