MESUT OZIL spoiled Eintracht Frankfurt’s return to the European stage as he bagged a 1-1 draw for Fenerbahce.
The 32-year-old, making his return to Germany after a bust-up with the national team saw him quit international football, was clinical for the Turks.
He curled home the opening goal in 10 minutes only for Sam Lammers to rattle in a leveller before the break.
In stoppage time Kevin Trapp saved a penalty from Dimitris Pelkas to secure a point for the Germans.
Monaco took full points in Group B as they edged out a stubborn Sturm Graz side thanks to Krepin Diatta’s 66th-minute goal.
Meanwhile, in Group E there was a big win for Galatasaray as a first-half own goal from Thomas Strkosha handed them a 1-0 victory against Lazio.
The other clash saw Lokomotiv Moscow hold Marseille to a 1-1 draw with 10 men. Nayair Tiknizyan walked for a second booking in 58 minutes, with Cengiz Under tucking away the penalty for the French.
But with just a minute left, Faustino Anjorin popped up to make sure of a point.
In the Europa Conference League, Tammy Abraham was among the scorers as Jose Mourinho’s Roma thrashed CSKA Sofia 5-1.
Graham Carey gave the away side the lead in the 10th minute before Lorenzo Pellegrini’s superb curling effort levelled it.
Stephan El Shaarawy put Mourinho’s men in front with a 38th-minute strike, Pellegrini added their third just past the hour mark and, after CSKA’s Yanic Wildschut saw red, Gianluca Mancini then Abraham sealed it.
Slavia Prague won 3-1 at home against 10-man Union Berlin in Group E after late goals from Jan Kuchta and Ivan Schranz.
