ZLAMAL NEW BLAST OVER GLEN ABUSE

- BY MARK PIRIE

OUTSPOKEN Bobby Zlamal has continued his row with Rangers, insisting the club are “exaggerating” the abuse to which Glen Kamara has been subjected.

The keeper who spent time on loan last term with St Mirren and St Johnstone from Hearts, was fined by Tynecastle chiefs for his defence of racist Ondrej Kudela.

Now retired, Zlamal has sparked the row again following the abuse Kamara received from Sparta Prague fans during the Europa League clash.

He unleashed a blistering defence of himself and the 10,000 kids in the crowd to back his former club.

Zlamal instead shifted the blamed away from the Czechs and onto Kamara for continuing the row.

In a bizarre take, he said: “Nothing good will come of war. The Scots are just making war. I will quote Morgan Freeman, ‘Racism will disappear when it is no longer talked about’.

“They do the exact opposite. They want to eradicate it, but they do it the wrong way.”

On the Sparta fans abusing the Rangers midfielder, he said: “I tried to take it with a grain of salt but it’s starting to bother me a lot. They were exaggerating then, but now they accused the children. I have a child and he doesn’t know what it is.

“My view is racism will disappear. The younger generation doesn’t know about it at all. Nothing good will ever come from hatred. It bothers me that Scotland considers us racists.”

Zlamal also claimed he had been a target of rough treatment on the pitch when facing Rangers.

He said: “When we played against Rangers, I caught the ball on the line and about two seconds later their player got there. I thought the team is weird. Something’s wrong with them.”

When asked about the Hearts fine, he doubled down on his comments on Kudela: “I did not apologise, I had nothing to do. I stand behind it.

“I didn’t say anything wrong. If someone calls me a racist, it offends me. I don’t even want to talk about it.

“Allegations against allegations. I said the presumption of innocence should be honoured. You can’t convict someone without evidence, not in the western world.”
