I couldn’t have done this three years ago
Ewan McGregor’s daughter Clara is now fronting a lingerie campaign but not so long ago she was crippled by anxiety and had an addiction to prescription medicines
THE daughter of Hollywood Scot Ewan McGregor is fronting a major new international lingerie campaign – three years after she overcame an addiction to prescription medication. Clara McGregor had been legally prescribed Xanax by doctors for her crippling anxiety but had to turn to the Star Wars actor and the rest of her family for help when she became dependent on the drug. Now, three years after winning her brave battle against the habit, Clara – herself an actress and film producer – is the face of Bluebella lingerie’s autumn-winter 21 campaign. She was named as the global ambassador for the firm and spoke out during a photo-shoot at a house in Battersea, London, for the brand’s latest collection, which launched this week. Clara, 25, who lives in New York with film producer Jimmy Giannopoulo said: “I simply couldn’t have done this campaign before. “To jump on a plane and meet new people and shoot a lingerie campaign. “Anxiety is suffocating and you just end up limiting yourself, it makes your life a lot smaller.” Clara chose to do the Bluebella shoot because of the London brand’s stance on LGBTQ+ rights. They were the first lingerie brand to use trans models in their campaigns. She said: “I think it’s really important to acknowledge trans women and that is something that I’ve seen Bluebella do, along with other members of the LGBT+ community. “I’m bisexual myself so I’m always wanting to work with them because they have represented the LGBT+ community and they are open to all walks of life and different people.”
