Adam: This is like CL tie... and we know Celts’ weaknesses

- BY FRASER WILSON

ADAM BOGDAN reckons today’s clash with Celtic will feel like a Champions League tie.

And the goalkeeper is confident Ferencvaros can deliver the Hoops another devastating blow – just like they did last season in Europe’s premier competition.

It might only be the halfway stage of the Europa League group stage but victory for the Hungarians would all but end Celtic’s hopes of being in Europe beyond the festive period.

With both sides on zero points from their opening two matches Ange Postecoglou admitted three points are a must for the Hoops today.

But Bogdan, who was on the bench for Hungary against England at Wembley last week, said: “This team has its weaknesses and we will try to exploit those.

“They like to play entertaining football so I think it will provide us with opportunities.

“The question is whether we can use that and also stop them creating for themselves.

“I think we can repeat last year. Absolutely.

“We have to play a strong game and be together, defend really well because they are a really good side going forward.

“If we defend together we will also have chances to hopefully win the game.

“The difference will be with the supporters. Last year there was an empty stadium which was a shame. Everybody would like to experience what this stadium can provide.

“This will maybe feel a bit like we are playing in the Champions League as it’s a Tuesday also.

“Last week I was at Wembley, now I’m at

Parkhead. I don’t think it gets any better.”

Bogdan could be back on the bench after making his first appearance of the season in Ferencvaros’ shock home defeat to mid-table Zalaegerszegi on Saturday.

Gaffer Peter Stoger was non-committal on who would start between the sticks.

But Stoger added: “This will not be an easy match for us. But we are a team able to score in any match and our target is not to build a wall in front of the box.

“We want at least one point – that is our target.

“I like the style they try to play but they also have weaknesses.”

With third place in the group bringing the safety net of the Europa Conference League, Stoger stressed the importance of taking a minimum three points from the double header with Celtic.

He said: “If you lose both then you are out. If you win both you are 100 per cent in.”
