Celebrating the caring heroes who provide the very best of care for Scottish people

-

AS WE continue to face the challenge of the pandemic, it’s once again time to celebrate the dedication and commitment of the healing and caring heroes on the frontline.

The Scottish Health Awards – now in their 20th year – shine a spotlight on those who go above and beyond the call of duty to provide the very best care for the people of Scotland.

The public have shown their love and gratitude towards those caring for our health and wellbeing by nominating their heroes among NHS Scotland and social care staff, carers, community workers and volunteers.

And with the virus still with us despite the amazing vaccine rollout and new treatments, there’s never been a better time to show our appreciation and reward them.

There were 16 award categories including the People’s Choice Award, which was open to a public vote specifically to recognise those helping battle coronavirus.

Run by the Record in partnership with

NHS Scotland and the Scottish Government, the winners were announced in a glittering ceremony last week, hosted by comedian and broadcaster Fred MacAulay.

He said: “It was a difficult job for the judges to pick the winners as there were so many inspiring people nominated.

“The 52 finalists are a testament to the remarkable dedication and devotion given to patients across the NHS and its partner organisations, day in day out.

“My congratulations to all the winners. I’m honoured to be involved in celebrating your success and delighted that we are able to meet in person this year.”

NOW IS THE TIME FOR US TO SHOW APPRECIATION
