Can’t wait to see show... but will miss Samantha

-

JANE Wright was a huge fan of the original series.

Here she gives her feelings about reuniting with an old friend:

“SATC was important because it was the first time women talked about men and sex and life in a way that wasn’t framed by men.

“It revealed the female gaze on the messy subject of love and it was brave and funny and illuminating. It was real, offering up the good, the bad, the ugly and the deeply embarrassing.

“But it also provided occasional blips of

EXCITED Jane Wright perfect romantic encounters, like Park Avenue princess Charlotte ending up with the small funny Jewish guy. I wish the new series had Samantha in it. I would have liked to see the positively ageing sex bomb still kicking ass through her 50s and 60s. Being in your 50s is far from being the end of the world. “It’s a liberating period of new starts and possibilities and life on your own terms. “Our culture encourages women to beat ourselves up for not being perfect. “I hope the new show has the balls to show that side of things. “I hope it’s funny, I hope it’s forgiving, I hope it’s inspiring. And still messy.”
