ROBBIE’S FIRED UP FOR RANGERS’ VISIT

- BY ALAN MARSHALL

ROBBIE NEILSON admits he cannot wait for Hearts’ Sunday showdown with league leaders Rangers at a sell-out Tynecastle.

The third-placed Gorgie outfit go into the game nine points adrift of the champions but Neilson is confident his team can close that gap in the televised clash.

Neilson’s troops have already beaten Celtic at home on the opening day of the season on top of securing a draw at Ibrox with a late Craig Halkett equaliser in October.

The weekend clash will give Hearts the chance to remain on the coattails of Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s side and Neilson is relishing the challenge.

Neilson’s team dug out a 1-0 win at Livingston four days ago, their first victory on the road since downing Dundee United in August having not lost in Gorgie this term. He said: “We’ve got the full week’s training and it’s going to be a brilliant game, I’m really looking forward to it. Rangers are the champions, they’ve got a new manager in and they’re on a wee high at the moment. But we’re on a high as well.

“It will be a full house and the place will be rocking, two teams on good form and we have confidence going into the game, as we always do at Tynecastle.

“We’re sitting pretty in the league and we need to keep that good form going. We just need to keep winning.”
