CELTS GAME IS LIKE BARCA

-

MANUEL PELLEGRINI has warned Celtic his Real Betis side will be treating the Parkhead men like Barcelona.

The La Liga outfit landed in Glasgow last night in buoyant mood following their weekend 1-0 win against the Nou Camp giants.

Betis have already bagged their Europa League knockout spot while winning five on the spin in Spain and Pellegrini wants to maintain his side’s hot streak.

He said: “It is a mentality that all teams must have regardless of who plays and against whom.

“They must have pride and desire to win and it has to be demonstrated. “I hope it will show.” Pellegrini admitted he’s surprised tonight’s clash is a dead rubber – as he expected a final day showdown with Celts for a place in the last 32.

The ex-Man City and West Ham boss said: “When we started the group we were thinking about this last game maybe being the final between Celtic and our team to see who continues in the Europa league.

“But we have the fortune and the ability to be ready for the next round.

“So it will be a good match between two big teams and not playing with all the tension that normally this game has.

“We are going with the responsibility of finishing the group as well as possible.

“It is always important to win because of dynamics, because of individual performances.”
