CRIME DOESN’T PAY FOR..

-

DEALER Collin helped run a cocaine and heroin empire worth around £1.3million.

He was jailed for eight years in 2020 after police nailed him using messages they got from his encrypted mobile phone.

The dealer – nicknamed Big Poppa – pled guilty after realising the evidence against him.

Dozens of damning messages were found on his encrypted mobile, including drug haul pics.

A judge said Collin’s level of involvement showed the racket was “organised and planned”.

Lord Armstrong also told the thug his sentence would have been 12 years if he had not admitted supplying the drugs.

Searches of a flat and Citroen Berlingo van uncovered heroin valued at £820,500, a £505,580 cocaine stash, hydraulic press and £630,000 of dirty money.

In November, lift engineer Collin was ordered to pay back the £580,790 order at the High Court in Edinburgh following a proceeds of crime hearing.

GANGLAND figure David Hough was jailed after his encrypted phone was cracked by officers.

He was jailed for six years after being caught running a street valium operation.

Guns and grenades were later found during a separate raid at a safehouse in north Glasgow.

Hough has links to the Daniel crime clan and was an associate of enforcer Kevin “Gerbil” Carroll, who was shot dead in 2010.

He was sentenced at the High Court in Paisley last June after he admitted to being involved in organised crime. Lady Haldane cut his term from nine years due to his guilty plea.

Hough, who was arrested at Malaga Airport, ran the drugs lab with sidekick Hugh McHugh, 43, who was jailed for five years.

Their associate Eric Morrison jnr was jailed for three years for his part in the operation.

James Dalziel admitted charges of being concerned in the supply of heroin and cocaine and was jailed for two years.
