TIME FOR THE LIME

- BY GARRY OWEN

DESERT LIME (5.30) looks sharp for thriving George Boughey on a trappy all-weather card at Wolverhampton.

The sprinter was better than ever when second to Inevitable Outcome over course and distance.

That race is working out well so this likeable filly can go one better in another competitive contest.

David Loughnane has also hit top gear so I’m backing ART EXPERT (4.30) in the Coral Handicap.

The gelding put in his best shift yet when giving the in-form Cephalus most problems at Southwell.

The three-year-old was staying-on strongly late that day so he land this weaker event up in trip.

ALEXANDER JAMES (6.00) can extend Michael Appleby’s winning run in the Betway Handicap. The six-year-old was denied a hat-trick when third behind Chance in a warm contest at Lingfield.

That was still a cracking effort so the gelding can resume winning ways in these calmer waters.

BILLY ROBERTS (7.30) can complete a three-timer for shrewd Simon Whitaker in the lucky last. The nine-year-old stayed on track when decisively denying James Park Woods over track and trip.

The gelding scored with plenty in hand so he can make light of just a 2lb penalty.

GLUTNFORPUNISHMENT (1.40) can strike for in-form Lucy Wadham over the Jumps at Fakenham. The hurdler shaped like his turn was near when second to Vocal Duke on his return at this venue.

The skilled handler can also take the staying handicap hurdle with TINY TANTRUM (2.50). The gelding looks open to plenty of progress over three miles after chasing home Lelantos here.

Olly Murphy is also flying so I’m siding with DUBAI GUEST (2.15) in the novices’ chase. The seven-year-old returned to form when second to Alright Chief at Huntingdon.

Sean Curran’s DOUKAROV (3.20) is well worth punting in the Hellesdon Handicap Chase. The seven-year-old ran another stormer when third to Gallic Geordie in a fair event at Newbury.
