If they can get £500,000 they will be doing well as Rangers hold all the aces. They are under no pressure to buy but Hearts will be left with a player with one foot out of the door.
It doesn’t look great for Griff after failing to do the business for his pal James McPake at Dundee. There might be an experienced gaffer out there who can whip him in to shape again. Perhaps Ian McCall at Thistle?
