St Johnstone on Boxing Day. That halted a devastating start to the Japanese star’s stint in Scotland but he is fit again and desperate to have a crack at Rangers, knowing that a win will put Celtic nine points clear with just three games remaining.

Speaking to Celtic TV, Kyogo said: “I would like to have 20 goals. I think I can score 20 and I want to have more than 20.

“Goals contribute to the victory of the team and make everybody happy and smile.”

Asked if he was ready for Rangers, he added: “Yes. We want the result for the next game and the most important thing is victory. So I will work hard and I would like to have opportunities to score goals.

“But again, the most important thing is to make the team have a victory.”

Despite missing four months of the season, Kyogo was one of six Celts yesterday named in the PFA Scotland Premiership team of the year.

Rangers have two representatives in the team in the shape of captain James Tavernier and Alfredo Morelos, while Craig Gordon and John Souttar are included from third-place Hearts.

Ross County’s Regan CharlesCook is the only player outside the top three to make the team.

Postecoglou, Ross County’s Malky Mackay, Hearts gaffer Robbie Neilson and Arbroath boss Dick Campbell make up the fourman shortlist for this season’s Scottish Football Writers’ William Hill Manager of the Year award.
