SHIELDING LIST TO BE AXED

A LIST of those at highest risk from Covid is to be ditched next month.

For some time, clinical advice has been for those on the shielding list – that covered 120,000 people at the beginning of the pandemic – to follow the same guidance as everyone else.

And the Scottish Government will formally close the list on May 31.

Medics say for most there is no greater risk than the general public due to the impact of vaccinations.

The Government says support is still available for the immunosuppressed.
