Drunk guilty in a breach of the fleece

- BY GORDON CURRIE

A BARE-CHESTED drunk man halted traffic when he staggered across a road to hurl abuse at sheep.

Thomas Degnan, 42, shouted at the animals as he collapsed in the central reservation of the A9, near Gleneagles, last May.

He also urinated on the side of a car then opened the vehicle’s door and peed on a nine-year-old boy sitting in the back.

Prosecutor Bill Kermode told Perth Sheriff Court the incidents began after Degnan had stormed out of his car after a row with his partner Amanda Dunn.

Sheriff Francis Gill told Degnan, who admitted charges: “Your behaviour was appalling.”

The sheriff then ordered Degnan, of Glasgow’s Cranhill, to carry out 150 hours of unpaid work.
