Pot Noodle fire sparked nursery alert
A WOMAN who caused an evacuation at a children’s nursery by burning a Pot Noodle in a microwave has been rapped by a care watchdog.
Childcare practitioner Holly Wilkie overcooked the snack and triggered a full-scale emergency at The Wendy House in Perth.
She tried to heat the Pot Noodle last October but left it too long in the oven and smoke alarms went off. Scottish Fire and Rescue were called to the scene.
Wilkie hid the snack and denied responsibility when nursery bosses investigated.
She eventually confessed and was reprimanded by the Scottish Social Services Council, which said she “acted dishonestly”.
The Wendy House said that Wilkie no longer works at the nursery.
