BOUT TOO HIGH A PRICE FOR ICEMAN

-

GERWYN PRICE has pulled the plug on his charity boxing match next month and promised to commit all his attention to darts.

The Iceman was due to make his debut appearance in the ring against ex-pro Rhys Evans in Wales.

The bout had already been postponed after he injured his right hand, the Welshman insisting it was not caused by training for the fight. But he’s scrapped the contest completely on medical advice and said: “Boxing’s behind me now – it’s darts from now on in.” CURLING: Olympic champion Eve Muirhead and silver medallist Bobby Lammie are on the cusp of a clean sweep of group wins at World Mixed Doubles Championship in Geneva.

Spain and Turkey are up today after a 10-4 downing of Hungary made it seven wins on the spin.
