WE MUST WORK TO GRANTAWINWISH

-

GRANT GILCHRIST says Edinburgh must step it up every week now if they are to achieve “special” status.

The side are in contention in the Challenge Cup and the URC, having never won a trophy in the pro era.

Starting Saturday, league rivals Ulster then Glasgow visit either side of Wasps in the last eight of the cup.

Lock Gilchrist said: “It will become the best team I’ve ever played in if we perform over the next few games. That’s the challenge. Can we be the ones to take this club somewhere special? We have put ourselves in a position now.”

Mike Blair’s men only edged out Zebre by three points in their last run-out at home and Gilchrist said: “If we’re slightly off, it can quickly unravel. We’re going to have to be better against Ulster and then better again against Glasgow and better against Wasps.”
