Unmasked: 10 butchers accused of massacre
UKRAINE’S defence ministry yesterday published pictures of 10 “Russian butchers” it accuses of war crimes.
On Twitter under the headline “The despicable 10”, it alleges they were involved in killing Ukrainians in Bucha.
The post says: “Ten Russian butchers from the 64th brigade have been identified and named suspects responsible for committing #BuchaMassacre.
“This unit had been awarded for its atrocities, and returned to the battlefield. Justice for war criminals is inevitable.”
SUSPECTS
Mugshots on Twitter Ukraine had accused fleeing Russian forces of a massacre after discovering mass graves in Bucha in the Kyiv region.
The town’s mayor claimed 300 residents were killed.
Ukrainian President Voldymyr Zelensky said at the time: “Indeed, this is genocide – the elimination of the whole nation and the people.”
His spokesman Sergei Nykyforov told the BBC: “We found mass graves, we found people with their hands and with their legs tied up… and with shots, bullet holes, in the back of their head.”
