Billionaire set to launch Boots bid
AN INDIAN billionaire is planning a takeover bid for chemist Boots, it has been claimed.
Mukesh Ambani is believed to have teamed up with private equity giant Apollo Global Management to launch the offer.
Boots, which has more than 2200 stores, could fetch a price tag of £6billion.
Ambani is understood to be planning an expansion of the firm to India, other parts of Asia and the Middle East.
