Star-studded Spree line-up
THE Spree is celebrating its 10th anniversary with a line-up including Altered Images, Barbara Dickson and members of Suede, Teenage Fanclub, Love and Money and Ocean Colour Scene.
The popular Paisley event takes place in the Spiegeltent at the town’s Bridge Street from September 1-10.
It kicks off with Scottish folk rock favourites Tide Lines, while Simon and Oscar of Ocean Colour Scene come to Paisley on the following day for an acoustic gig.
The opening Saturday will see the Spiegeltent host an all-day festival within a festival featuring brilliant Mod and Northern Soul acts – and the famous scooter ride out.
Norman Blake, Bernard
Butler and James Grant come together on one stage at The Spree on September 5 to perform a selection of each other’s songs.
Long-time friends Barbara Dickson and Rab Noakes get together on September 7, while Altered Images, fronted by Clare Grogan – who release their first album in almost 40 years, Mascara Streakz, in
August – play on the 9th.
The festival comes to a close on September 10 with comedy from Susie McCabe in the afternoon and a headline gig at night from Manchester indie group The Slow Readers Club.
Tickets for these shows go on sale at 10am today via www.thespree.co.uk and www.ticketweb.uk
