Let’s get over Low with win

- ARBROATH MORTON

NICKY LOW insists Arbroath need to use tonight’s clash with Morton to get the title agony out of their system.

The Red Lichties’ automatic promotion dream was dashed last Friday by Kilmarnock.

Dick Campbell’s side can still clinch a fairytale spot in the Premiership via the play-offs and midfielder Low insists victory against Ton in the final game of the league campaign is essential ahead of their semi-final tie.

He said: “It was a tough one to take against Kilmarnock and it still is but the good thing for us is we have another game ahead of the play-offs to get it out of the system.

“It was frustrating after leading 1-0 but we gave it our best shot.

“Unfortunately we fell short on the night.

“It will be really tough against Morton as they’ve picked up under Dougie Imrie’s management and have been really good.

“We’ll try to put in a performance and get a victory to take us into the play-offs.”

Morton’s safety was secured last weekend despite losing at home to Inverness Caley Thistle.

Imrie replaced Gus MacPherson in the dugout last December when the Cappielow outfit propped up the division.

And he said: “This game will take care of itself, it will maybe give us a chance to play some of the younger kids who have not had a lot of game time.

“I’m proud of everyone, I’m proud of the boys since I came through the door.

“They’ve given me everything and you have to take your hat off to them because they have been brilliant.”
