Safe seat, Jacob?

He drives family to the talkies, with FOUR in the back (including mater)

A TRIP to the cinema turned into a period drama as Jacob Rees-Mogg’s wife had to squeeze in the back of his Bentley with three of their kids.

It meant the Tory toff’s eldest son Peter, who is affectionately known as “mini-Mogg” for sharing his father’s dress sense, got to sit up front in the vintage 1968 T-Series after watching the new Downton Abbey film yesterday.

Meanwhile, boxing ace Tyson Fury enjoyed a day out with his big brood, but the contrast with the Moggs was stark –with most of the grinning, down-toearth family kitted out in red tracksuits.

The Rees-Moggs went to the 11am screening of Downton Abbey: A New Era at Hengrove Cineworld in Bristol.

Onlookers claimed that the Etoneducated Brexit minister, 52, even stood to salute as God Save The King played.

After leaving by a side door, he piled his wife, Helena de Chair, 45, and three of their six kids into the back of the grey £20,000 motor before heading home.

Rees-Mogg, who has owned the Bentley since 1989, faced criticism for claiming he was “enormously environmentally friendly” because he has vintage motors.

The car is unlikely to have seatbelts as it was manufactured before legislation was introduced in 1983 that required passengers to wear them.

But Lawrence Waterman, a trustee at British Safety Council, said: “Jacob Rees-Mogg has been described as the MP for the 18th century – the trouble is that even vintage cars travel much faster than a pony and trap.

“We think that parents have a particular duty towards their children. Buckle up, Jacob.”

Heavyweight champ Fury, 33, celebrated his KO of Dillian Whyte by stepping out with wife Paris and family after returning home to Morecambe, Lancashire. They are parents to Venezuela, 12, Prince John James, nine, Prince Tyson II, five, Valencia, four, Prince Adonis Amaziah, three, and Athena, eight months. Fury said: “The only things we truly have is moments in time.

“Lovely day out with the fam.”
