I try to tell myself it is aspirational

-

IT’S been difficult house hunting while bingeing Selling Sunset at the same time.

The smash hit Netflix reality real estate show is back with a bang for season seven and I managed to finish the whole series this weekend.

Scrolling through Rightmove as I watched the glamorous cast sashay their way through some of THE most jaw dropping properties in the priciest postcodes of Los Angeles, I could not help but feel slightly depressed.

The real world feels a bit rubbish when you’re watching that. Even though you tell yourself not to believe all you see on screen, it’s hard when you’re watching people walk around $20million mansions which are just a tad out of your price range.

But I also try to tell myself it’s aspirational and inspiring for me to look and imagine. I’m never going to be like any of my favourite cast members – dazzling and decked out in a couture outfit and sky high designer heels to go to the supermarket but If I believe really hard, maybe I’ll have their luxury properties one day... and their money. That’s the theory anyway.

Most of the stars of Selling Sunset talk about the power of manifestation and how they imagined their lives the way they are now when they were struggling. They say the key to success is believing it’s happened already or, deep down, that it truly will. This week I’ve been determined to think more positively and am planning to draw up a vision board of what I want.

And you better believe that Malibu mansion is going on there. If all it takes for me to get everything I truly desire in this universe is to imagine it, I’m going the whole hog. Yes, a nice wee semi-detached with a decent garden and some private parking is going on there but so are the big dreams too.

The houses on every continent, my designer wardrobe for the supermarket, a big white WAG-style state-of-the-art Range Rover with leather interior, all going on. Also on the vision board will be my ultimate dream at the moment and a focus of far too much of my attention while watching daytime shows for work – the Andi Peters ITV jackpot money that he touts all day long on every show I switch on.

Never mind Selling Sunset, the luxury life I want is that of the bold Andi. Still going strong and looking utterly fabulous, he’s graduated from the broom cupboard to lavish locations around the world every week while he convinces us all to text in for £2.50 a pop to try and bag a bit of his joy.

I do it every time, convinced if I imagine it hard enough, that country house in Sussex and the camper van full of cash will be mine.

As long as I’ve banged the semi-detached on my vision board, I’m keeping one foot on the ground and making sure I’ve covered all bases.

Can’t wait to see what happens next.
