No party for Reds - even if they win

- BY DAVID MADDOCK

JURGEN KLOPP insists there will be no celebrations if Liverpool lift the FA Cup because the job is far from done.

The Reds boss is hugely disappointed there will be no parade around the city if they win today’s final against Chelsea, revealing that one of the biggest parties he had was after winning the German Cup with Dortmund.

But there is a very good reason for that, with the manager demanding total commitment and concentration from players who are still aiming for an historic Quadruple this season.

“When we won the cup with Dortmund we had a parade. You might think we are crazy, but it’s really big. But here if we win the FA Cup we play Southampton,” he said. “We couldn’t celebrate the Carabao Cup (triumph) because we played three days later.

“But I said in a meeting yesterday, if you cannot enjoy this season now then I can’t help, because it’s outstanding what these boys deliver.

“I’m really happy for the people they can be part of this journey, and actually the main reason for this journey, but now we have to be ready to keep fighting because now is when it gets really exciting.”

Klopp’s idea is simple. There will be no parade until their Quadruple bid is done, which he hopes is on May 28 in the Champions League Final against mighty Real Madrid.

And the manager vowed that his side will do everything they can to ensure there are four trophies on the bus that he hopes will be circling the city of Liverpool, with millions joining the celebration.

On the Quadruple bid, with City now massive favourites for the title, he said: “It’s tough but it’s fine honestly. It’s never been done before (the Quadruple), so it’s like first step in (an uncharted) island.

“We’re the first team to give it a try and that’s what we do. Go to all the finals and try, chasing City, it’s a tough task but that was always clear.

“If you had said at the end of the season you will be in all finals and two matchdays before the end we are three points behind City, I’d have said, ‘Nah, can’t see that happening.’ Not all together in the same season.

“The boys did it and that’s really special but we know the decisive part is coming.”
