Youth want shake-up on complaints

- BY PETER DAVIDSON

THE youth wing of the SNP is calling on the party to review its complaints procedure “at all levels” following the Patrick Grady sexual harassment case.

A statement released by the Young Scots for Independence (YSI) group said: “In the YSI, we expect the highest standard of conduct from our party members, and in particular, our elected officials.

“We must ensure our party is a safe space for all and fight complacency with vigilance to ensure this remains the case.

“In light of recent events, it has become clear that we have much more to do to ensure our party is a place of inclusion and safety.”

It added: “We are calling for a review of the party’s complaints procedures, at all levels.

“As a party, we must ensure members have the resources and support systems they need during and after the complaints procedure.”

SNP MP Joanna Cherry has also hit out at the party over how it handles claims of sexual misconduct.
