Gunners look to Jesus after ditching Dom
ARSENAL are ready to shelve a move for Dominic Calvert-Lewin after having second thoughts about the Everton star.
The England striker was high on Mikel Arteta’s wish list but doubts about the 25-year-old’s form – he scored just five times last season – and fitness mean the Gunners have yet to act on their long-term interest.
Arsenal targeted CalvertLewin before being alerted to the potential availability of Gabriel Jesus, who is now their No.1 target.
Arteta worked with Jesus at Manchester City and talks to sign him are now well under way, with Jesus keen to stay in England.
Tottenham are also monitoring the situation but the 25-year-old Brazilian is believed to prefer a move to the Emirates.
