Christian can be a Red Devil
MANCHESTER UNITED are in pole position to sign Christian Eriksen after Tottenham backed away from re-signing him.
The midfielder made a successful comeback with Brentford last season following his cardiac arrest while playing for Denmark at Euro 2020.
He is available on a free transfer but Spurs have not been involved in any serious discussions to bring him back to the club and that has paved the way for United to become favourites to land him.
Eriksen has been offered the chance to stay at Brentford and has promised to make Bees boss Thomas Frank the first to know his next move.
Spurs gaffer Antonio Conte previously worked with Eriksen at Inter Milan.
And before Eriksen returned to competitive football, Conte said “the door is always open” to him training with Tottenham.
But new United boss Erik ten Hag is interested in taking the player to Old Trafford as part of a rebuilding campaign.
And while there is also interest from Everton, United are now seen as the favourites to land him should he choose to quit Brentford this summer.
