GERS TARGET IS MAN TO COL FOR GRAFT

-

RANGERS target Antonio Colak would score in any league and is one of the hardest working strikers in the game – according to his current boss in Greece.

The Ibrox club have been linked with a move for the Croatian international, who currently plays for PAOK.

Colak spent a chunk of last season on loan at Swedish side Malmo and helped them eliminate Rangers from the Champions League qualifiers.

But PAOK now appear keen to sell Colak ahead of the new campaign in Greece.

And their manager – former Romania boss Razvan Lucescu – has underlined why he rates the forward so highly.

Lucescu, son of legendary gaffer Mircea, said: “Antonio gives 150 per cent to training and games. It makes no difference to him whether he starts or comes on as a sub, his work-rate is the same.

“He is one of the hardestworking players I have ever been involved with. I have only good things to say about him.

“It doesn’t matter what league Antonio plays in, he would score goals anywhere.

“When he returned to us after his loan spell in Sweden, you would have perhaps expected his confidence to have dropped because he had problems here when he first signed.

“But he quickly showed that wasn’t true and is a hugely important player for us.”
