Blaze drama at landmark Calton Hill

FIRE crews tackled a wildfire at an Edinburgh landmark yesterday.

Four fire engines went to the scene at Calton Hill when the alarm was raised at 3.15pm. There were no reports of any injuries.

A spokeswoman for Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: “We are in attendance tackling a large gorse fire.”

Edinburgh Central MSP Angus Robertson tweeted: “Very dramatic scenes.”
