Fiery food fight goes pro

-

COME DINE WITH ME: THE PROFESSIONALS Channel 4, 5pm KITCHEN friction and secret scoring are the name of the game as this cult comedy cook-off show goes professional.

For the first time, actual proper chefs will battle it out to win £1,000. But it’s not about money, it’s about hometown glory.

The show celebrates the wonderful variety of restaurants and the colourful characters who work in them across the UK.

And don’t worry, it’s still as bitchy and cut-throat as ever, plus it’s all worth it for the relentlessly sarcastic voiceover from Dave Lamb.

In each episode, three local restaurant duos go head-to-head as they take it in turns to host the others for a three-course dinner.

At the end of each meal, the visiting chefs score their host’s dinner out of 20, with the highest scorers overall scooping the prize. First to host are purveyors of posh nosh, chef/owner Ben and front of house Jo, from intimate restaurant, The Barn, near Huddersfield.

A love-inspired menu includes Mr Jam Roly-Poly Man. Make of that what you will.

Second hosts, chef Brian and his business partner and other half Lisa, hope that their eclectic menu of French classics and a platter of street food at Disco Kitchen in Halifax will impress guests.

For the final night, it’s the turn of Scandi-inspired restaurant FINT, in Leeds, as restaurant owner and chef Simon and his manager Sakina put on a spread for their guests.

But will some of their quirky vegan alternatives prove a little too leftfield for the others?

Expect stunning cooking, hilarious hosting and no shortage of drama.
