Stars’ joy as Wimbledon is back to normal at last
STARS flocked to Wimbledon yesterday for the opening day of the championships.
Holly Willoughby beamed as play got under way while Sir Jackie Stewart, Mollie King, Marvin and Rochelle Humes, Amanda Holden and Rachel Stevens also joined in the fun,
Emma Raducanu made her Centre Court debut clad in more than £35,000 worth of Tiffany jewellery.
The teenager wore the pearl and diamond drop earrings which cost £7575 paired with the pendant which comes in at £3875.
Her most expensive piece was the diamond-hinged bangle which is an eyewatering £18,900.
The 19-year-old US Open champ, who has a net worth of £10million, was cheered on by a packed stadium as she beat Belgian Alison Van Uytvanck in straight sets.
Raducanu said: “I’m extremely pleased to have come through that match and looking forward to hopefully playing in front of you guys again. The noise was just amazing to hear.”
Record crowds are expected this year after the tournament was cancelled in 2020 because of the pandemic and had limited capacity last year too because of the Covid restrictions.
