JAMIE McALLISTER insists he and Lee Johnson have a formula for success that can help steer Hibs back to the top.

The former Hearts and Aberdeen defender has linked up with Johnson for a third time after being his assistant at Bristol City and Sunderland.

The duo led the Black Cats to the EFL Trophy last year after taking the Robins to eighth in the Championship in 2019 – their highest finish in 11 years – on top of a League Cup semi-final against Manchester City a year earlier.

Now McAllister is eyeing success in Leith. He said: “I know the gaffer’s personality inside out and he knows mine inside out. He knows how to push my buttons and the same the other way.

“It’s hard to get that trust and those same ideas on the game.

“In the last couple of jobs we’ve had together, we’ve been successful. We want to bring that up to Hibs and try to get the club to where it should be.

“I class myself as a winner and I want to be successful at whatever club I’m with. I’ll do whatever it takes to get there – to win and be successful.”
