Thijs chase could be about to end

RANGERS-linked Thijs Dallinga looks set for a £2million move to promoted French side Toulouse after they made a bid for the Excelsior hitman.

The 21-year-old has just enjoyed an outstanding season in the second tier of Dutch football, netting 32 times for the promoted Rotterdam club.

It led to interest from across

Europe with Gers mentioned as one of the favourites to sign Dallinga, along with clubs in France and Vitesse Arnhem.

But Toulouse – who won Ligue 2 last season – have made their move first and are waiting to see if £2m will be enough to prise Dallinga away.

Excelsior technical director Nick Kersten has accepted the youngster will be leaving the club this summer and said: “Dallinga can play one or two levels higher than Excelsior. If he gets the chance of moving to a better league, we have to accept that and not shut the door on him. There is a lot of interest, so the opportunity is definitely there for him.”
