I’ve GOAT to back Rafa

-

RAFA NADAL starts his bid to complete the third leg of a calendar Grand Slam today with his co-coach backing him to beat Matteo Berrettini if he reaches the semi-final.

Nadal, 36, claimed his second and last SW19 title in 2010, although he hadn’t won the Australian Open since 2009 when he triumphed in January.

And his 14th French Open victory opened up a lead of two Slam titles over Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer in the Greatest of All Time race.

Nadal plays Argentine Francisco Cerundolo on Centre Court today.

And Francisco Roig said: ”Of course it is an ambition, especially as with Rafa you can aspire to anything.

“If Rafa gets to the second week, I would put him ahead of Berrettini.”
